COURAGE IN CRISIS: HELP ISRAELI SOLDIERS COMNAT PTSD AND BUILD RESILIENCE AFTER WORKING TO RESCUE OUR HOSTAGES
It’s been one year since the horrific morning of October 7, 2023. The surprise attack began with a barrage of rockets towards settlements in the south and center of the country. At the same time, thousands of terrorists infiltrated from the Gaza Strip into cities and kibitzs, committing brutal murders, torture, and violent rape. 243 people were kidnapped from their beds and a nearby peace party. More than 1200 children, parents, and elderly were executed. This is the most devastating event experienced by the State of Israel since the Yom Kippur War on October 6, 1973.
So far, about 360,000 regular and reserve IDF soldiers have participated in the war. Many have been in Gaza for months at a time. Alongside the soldiers, many reservists made the decision to leave their families and join the first responders.
TAKE ACTION
Many of you have personally asked how you can help Israel, at this time of great need. We have identified soldiers and reservists that were first responders, and who have been in Gaza for prolonged periods. They have witnessed first had the horror of the murders, rapes, and burned bodies. Many of them are task with locating and rescuing our hostages. Despite their heroic efforts, many have also seen the aftermath of failed negotiations and retrieved the bodies of hostages.
THE URGENCY
Since the beginning of the war, over 30,000 soldiers have sought help for PTSD symptoms following exposure to traumatic events during the battles, most of whom returned to active duty after the initial diagnosis.
YOU CAN MAKE A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE
CBBs philosophy is to leverage the intrinsic value of nature to heal the soul and build resilience. Members will participate in meaningful activity with wildlife in the wilderness that will transform their mindset and accelerate the healing process. Experienced therapists will reshape the trauma and provide tools designed to build resilience and recovery.
TOGETHER WE CAN GIVE BACK TO THE ONES WHO SACRIFICED THE MOST
The objectives of sending first responders to heal are threefold:
1. Learn to identify the onset of a PTSD attack
2. Acuire methods to increase the duration between PTSD attacks
3. Learn personal tools to minimize and safely deal with PTSD attacks
BE THE DIFFERENCE
By sending one person, you not only save their lives, you save their family's life.
The costs: $3,500 (plus airfare) to send one member for a 5-day PTSD workshop in the African savanna. Kosher food will be provided and consideration for shabbat.
We have identified 40 tactical first responders in need. Our plan is to conduct two pilot groups; each made up of 20 individuals. We need your help to raise 140,000.
